PLD Terms & Conditions

1. Introduction

These Terms and Conditions outline the agreement between the Consumer and PING regarding the PLD Custom fitting experience. They are in addition to PING Europe Limited’s general Terms and Conditions of sale to Consumers but, in the event of any conflict between them, these terms shall prevail.

By engaging in a PLD Custom fitting experience, the Consumer agrees to comply with and be bound by these terms. PING encourages all Consumers to read them carefully before proceeding with an order.

2. Custom Fitting Process

2.1. Initial Consultation: The PLD Custom fitting experience begins with an initial consultation to determine the Consumer’s putter specifications, including but not limited to clubhead design, shaft length, grip type and any other relevant details. This consultation is conducted through electronic communication but may be followed up by a telephone call with a PING Master Fitter.

2.2. Non-Refundable Deposit: To initiate a PLD Custom fitting experience, the Consumer is required to pay a non-refundable deposit of £200. This deposit secures the initial consultation, a custom fitting appointment and a design planning proposal.

2.3. Custom Fitting Appointment: An in-person PLD Custom fitting appointment will be conducted at the PING Performance Research Centre, located at Michael Pearson West, 5 Oakwood Dr, Loughborough, LE11 3QF. The appointment is conducted by a PING Master Fitter and will last no more than two hours and 30 minutes.

2.4. Design and Specification Proposal: After the custom fitting appointment, the Consumer will be presented with a design and specification proposal for their PLD Custom putter. The Consumer is required to review and approve this proposal before production can commence. Design of any PLD Custom putter must conform with the R&A’s rules of equipment.

2.5. Final Payment: Upon approval of the design and specification proposal, the Consumer must make a final payment of £1800 (or equivalent currency value set by Ping Europe Limited) for their PLD Custom putter. This payment covers the manufacturing, assembly and shipping of the putter.

2.6 All prices shown are inclusive of VAT.

3. Production and Lead Time

3.1. Lead Time: There is an estimated six-week lead time for the production and shipping of a PLD Custom putter. This lead time commences from the date of final payment clearance.

3.2. Production Delays: While PING strives to meet the estimated lead time, there may be instances beyond any control, such as material shortages or production delays, where this lead time cannot be achieved. In such cases, PING will make their best effort to inform the Consumer of any delays and provide an updated estimated delivery date.

3.3 Once the specification of the PLD Custom putter is agreed with the Consumer, PING will manufacture the putter as per that specification, so as to accord with that description, fit for its purpose and to be of satisfactory quality. The Consumer’s statutory rights are unaffected.

4. Cancellation and Refunds

4.1. Cancellation by Consumer: The £200 deposit paid prior to the start of a PLD Custom fitting experience is refundable but only in the event of the initial consultation being cancelled prior to commencing, either by PING or the Consumer. The deposit becomes non-refundable once the initial consultation has commenced.

4.2. Cancellation by PING: PING reserves the right to cancel the Consumer’s order at any time before final payment is received, if there are unforeseen circumstances that prevents PING from fulfilling an order. In such cases, the Consumer will be refunded any amounts paid in full.

4.3. Returns and Refunds: Due to all PLD Custom putters being bespoke designs and being engineered to the Consumer’s individual requirements, the Consumer must note that it is a non-returnable and non-refundable product, with the exception of a defect in material, or workmanship so as not to be in accordance with 3.3 above.

5. Ownership and Risk

5.1         Ownership of the PLD Custom putter will transfer to the Consumer upon delivery. PING will not be responsible for any loss or damages after the putter has been delivered to the address provided by the Consumer.

5.2         Whilst the Consumer will be involved in the design and specification of their PLD Custom putter, it does not entitle the Consumer to any Intellectual Property rights in the putter, such as copyright, design right patent or trademark right, all of which shall remain the property of PING Europe Limited.

6. Privacy Policy

Any personal information collected during the PLD Custom fitting experience will be handled in accordance with the PING Europe Limited Privacy Policy.

7. Governing Law

These Terms and Conditions are governed by English Law and any disputes arising from or relating to these terms will be subject to the non-exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.

By proceeding with the PLD Custom fitting experience, Consumers acknowledge that they have read, understood and agree to these Terms and Conditions. If there are any questions or concerns, Consumers can make contact by emailing pldcustom@pingeurope.co.uk before proceeding.
